Art studio plans classes

Denton's A Creative Art Studio has announced its slate of August classes, to be held at the studio, 227 W. Oak St.

Linka Behn teaches a general drawing course from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. each Tuesday. Cost is $95 for three classes, and materials are provided.

On Tuesday mornings through Aug. 23, Kerry Boutell will teach students how to paint using the watercolor batik method. The class is held from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and starts next week. Cost is $100 and includes most materials. Rice paper can be purchased from Boutell.

A jewelry-making workshop will be held over three Monday sessions, Aug. 8-22. At each session, students will learn a different method for making one-of-a-kind jewelry, including soldering and beading. Cost is $30 per session, and includes some supplies. The class will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

A Saturday morning workshop will teach students how to create a personal journal using magazine images and other materials. Cost for the workshop, which will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 13, is $75 and includes all materials. Instructor is Crystal Nelson.

The next week, Nelson will teach a class on printmaking without a press. Students will use Nolan desks to create a carving in linoleum and create a series of black-and-white prints. Cost is $75 and includes materials. The class is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 20.

Try clearing your cache:
  • In Firefox, go to Tools / Clear Recent History. Check the "Cache" box and uncheck all other boxes. Click "Clear now."
  • In Internet Explorer, go to Tools / Internet Options. Check the "Delete browsing history on exit" box. Select "OK."

  • If you are using Internet Explorer 8, make sure InPrivate Filtering is turned off and InPrivate Filtering data has been cleared. To turn off InPrivate Filtering go to Tools / InPrivate Filtering Settings, select the "off" button and click "OK".
To clear InPrivate Filtering data
  • Go to Tools / Internet Options.
  • Click the "Delete" button under “Browsing history” on the General tab.
  • Make sure "Preserve Favorites website data" is unchecked.
  • Make sure "InPrivate Filtering data" is checked.
  • Click the "Delete" button.
  • Click the "OK" button to exit the Internet Options window.
  • Refresh the page.
